We’ve invested in our own geothermal energy plant, which consists of 12 perforations drilled into the soil below BREATHETM, each one approximately 120 metres deep and containing a liquid-filled loop that acts as a heat exchanger.

It allows us to sustainably cool the building during the warmer months, heat it during the short cool spells and provide hot water for a fraction of the energy normally used. The 150m2 of vertical gardens and the many trees and plants throughout BREATHETM have an aesthetic and cosseting impact but also a practical one, designed to absorb carbon and produce oxygen.

The gardens are partially irrigated using captured and recycled rainwater, which along with hydro-fertilizers reduces the need to draw water by around 50-80%. And the water you drink is purified through reverse osmosis and remineralised at BREATHETM (the osmosis “wastage” is recovered to irrigate the gardens), while the food is mostly locally sourced and always carefully prepared on the premises from specially selected quality ingredients.

As an environmentally responsible company, our mission is to eliminate the use of single-use plastics entirely. There are already far too many plastic straws and coffee cups contaminating our planet — we’re huge fans of the biodegradable and compostable alternatives. Because we care.

The Palo Borracho trees do this while looking amazing; lychee, fig, citrus, loquat and feijoa add blossom and fragrance to the air, and our herb garden complements BREATHE´sTM very own farm in Alhaurín, where we grow a lot of the vegetables and fruit used in the restaurant. The show-stopper, however, is the 25-metre tall vertical garden.

It’s a place to relax with friends, socialise, enjoy great food and have fun in a very special setting that is framed by fantastic Marbella views. And you don’t even have to feel guilty about being surrounded by all this gorgeous greenery, as we collect rainwater, filter it and use it to irrigate the garden.
